The pale horse came blazing Across the eastern sky Riding behind the setting sun The abyss was opened wide ⟢⟡⟣ Death's rider did wield a sword Above his head with power Striking down in all its fury At the chiming of the hour ⟢⟡⟣ The horse dragged along behind it Sickness, famine and disease In its wake not one survived It ravaged as it pleased ⟢⟡⟣ One fourth of all was laid to waste Man, woman and child Devoured by the earthly beasts Their taste for flesh burned wild ⟢⟡⟣ The pale horse vanished into the night At the tolling of the bell It galloped hard across the plain Back to the burning gates of hell
